Kinda Eclectic Convention Make & Take

I must confess: I did not create any of my make and takes at Convention. There was so much other stuff going on, that I decided to just take them home and do them on my own. Now, I actually have to follow through and do them! I started with an easy one. I love this Kinda Eclectic card. Even more so, I love that they showed us a clean and simple version and a "stepped up" version of the card. Here's my stepped-up version:

Stampin' Up! Kinda Eclectic Stepped Up vs Simple
At Convention, both cards were on Whisper White cardstock, but I decided to cut my "stepped up" card and layer it on a Old Olive card base. The other ways this card is "stepped up" is the additional bitty butterfly, punched from vellum cardstock and attached with a Basics Hodge Podge Clip. I also added loops of Linen Thread under the Kindness banner. This look is very popular in paper-crafting this year. It's really easy to do.
  1. Wind the linen thread around your fingers to create a group of loops.
  2. Apply adhesive (I used SNAIL) to the cardstock in the middle of where you want the loops to be.
  3. Stick the Linen Thread on top of the adhesive with the loops spreading above and below the area with adhesive.
  4. Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the embellishments that go on top.

Very cool card! The second time I went to Convention it was soooo much easier and more fun to take our MnTs home....great that they gave you different versions. I keep saying that the more I see of this stamp set, the more I like it!

Brilliant ideas for "stepping" up my cards! TFS! I found your site through Pinterest and I can see why your cards are popular there =)
